Read an article from STAR CLOVE section entitled “Out of the Closet”. The title says it all. The article was about the so-called married men and women coming out after some years of marriage.
Indeed, from the title, it is about homosexuality. But what make thing different is that the so-called married men and women coming out from closet about their true orientations. I am not aware that there are cases like above. Maybe i have not met situation like this or i am not at the level.
I shocked, after reading the article. Seriously never aware about these issues. I clicked the websites listed in the article. In the nutshell, you don’t think only gay men coming out from the closet, women are coming out in an increasing number. It is not always the guy bringing problems to a hopefully-perfect marriage.
Women do hurt straight men in a marriage!!
The main reason for these problems are because they (gay men and gay women) thought by marriage, they can straighten their orientation. Some of them, in adolescence, may found that they might be one of them but they take it easily as part of their growing life. In order to convince themselves are like ordinary people, they choose to marrying. Some may have children and came out to the other half. The children are the most innocent should their parents break up.
However, statistic said that a third of couples would break up immediately; another third would stay a few more years before divorce; the remaining third would stay together to make their marriage work. Maybe it is not the end of the sham marriage after gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender spouse comes out.
We should really need to explore ourselves when in doubt we might be one of them before stepping into the marriage. By marrying, it’s not a solution to straight your orientation. Instead, we need to embrace ourselves!! Gay mah gay lah!! Haha.. It is better to be truthful with family, friends, and most importantly to ourselves. Like this, we will not hurt people like the other half and the children. Children are innocent when comes to problem between parents.
Easy as it may say, the article also said gay men generally face more problems when coming up rather than gay women. Will i face any problems in the future? Or maybe i am facing problems right NOW!! Whatever it is, i hope the future will be a bit better for me. God, please??
